model 94 production date

Dad and I were takling 30-30's again. He had his given to him for christmas in the mid 50's he was wondering, as he cant remember what year he got it, if somone can tell us what year it was made. the s/n is 2,4xx,xxx.

NRAJOE posted it on Winchester. He's got a website there which matches SN's with mfg dates. I'll look into it.

Thanks guys, Dad was happy to hear this. He has no Idea how meny animals he has killed with this rifle, only that he killed his biggest buck a 4X4 blacktail (at the tender age of 18) and a four or five point bull, I can't remember. Need less to say he calles it "meat in the pot". Common phrase fom everyone that hunted with him was it either went bang once or seven times. Boy he can work that lever fast!!
