O L D Winchester

A friend dropped in the other day with his Winchseter Saddle Ring Carbine in .32 WS. It'd been his grandfather's who died in 1939.Then his dad had it; now he does. A quick check of the serial # shows it was made in 1910. Wear appears normal for a gun that's almost 100 years old; bore looks pretty good, bluing on barrel 85-90%; sides of receiver bluing mostly gone. No apparent rust. Wood is generally good; a couple of chips and a 2" hairline crack where stock meets receiver. Action is crisp and tight. Has peep sight. My friend used to hunt with it but hasn't fired it in several years. Keeps it cleaned and wiped down. An interesting piece of history; made all the more so by Winchester's announced demise in the USA.

raveneap...That's a great piece of history which should only increase in sale value, regardless of whether it's a keepsake of your's or not.

This past year I've also become an owner of a Winchester Model 94 in 30-30. Had to add a couple of parts which were missing...and refinish the stock...and completely reblue the metal. Got'er'done in time to use it this past November for the MO deer hunting season.
