| Model 64A Thanks just_a_car
Great post by just_a_car a firearm thats been in the family that long is priceless and a piece of history to boot. I can relate to the priceless feeling. Thanks to you j_a_c and the link you included in your post, I was able to date the Model 64A I inherited from my father who passed away last year. I knew he bought it in the early 70's because he wrote me about when I cruising off the coast of Nam and was proud that he got it because that's what we always talked about getting ..A honest to goodness Winchester Lever Action Rifle. But until I plugged the S/N into the site, I had no idea of date or history. The Model 64 was manufactured 1933 to 1957. It was reintroduced in 1972 as the Model 64A and discontinued in 1973 with a little over 8200 made. The Model 64A my father bought was manufactured in 1972 and is 30-30 Cal. The good Lord willing, I be passing it on to one of my Grandsons. Thanks again j_a_c for helping me find out about my priceless Winchester Lever Action Rifle.... ****************************************************** All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing Last edited by mosineer; 09-02-2007 at 10:17 AM. |

I'm very pleased to hear that I was able to help mosineer. Wasn't really that much to find the sites, just a quick google search for "Winchester 94 Serial Number" and they came right up. That firearm is the same year as my Mustang (in my avatar) and from the pictures you posted, she's quite the beauty! Thanks for the background on your rifle. I'll take a few pictures of this 1894 when I get the chance, but it's not a pretty sight.
