| Model 94 drilled for scope? OK I was reading on a Winchester site that Model 94's that were built after ~1968 were predrilled for side scope mounts. I have one that was made in 1976, but I can't tell where ont he receiver I should start looking. There are half a dozen screws. Was that information correct? Are they the two smaller screws on the receiver? |

| That may be good news to me. Mine, too, was made around 1974 and I'm having a hard time zeroing in my iron sights. Maybe if a side scope could be installed that would be my solution. I'll be looking forward to others comments to learn if this is possible. I haven't noticed any open screw holes on my '94 30.30 but maybe there's a screw just filling a blank hole.

| Well, I was in a little pawn shop today near my in-laws and saw a scope bracket for a Winchester model 94 made after 1968, so I got one. Will have to wait until I get home to see how well it fits. Anyone know of a source for the scope rings? doesn't look like standard Weavers will work. |

| I don't think so There were two designs. One of the traditional mode and one of the greater side ejection angle to allow scopes. Some people did have holes drilled into the side of the receiver on the old designs and this may be what you have encountered. |

| I have one that I drilled the top of the bolt and mounted a Weaver base. Then put on a Beemans 3 power scope. No I don't work the action between rounds holding the firearm up to my soulder. The scope uses a set of side plates to attach to the base. DANA |

| My FIL's has a side mount and it mounts the scope pretty far to the left of the center-line. I hate it, myself.

| My 94/30-30 top eject has a mount main (heavier bolt), goes on the hole that the lever is attached with, but needs a longer screw. not sure if new ones are the same
