Are you sure it is Winchester?

I do know that Marlin used letters in a few of their models to denote new modifications/updates....could it be that this is a marlin made/winchester badged gun? I saw the same thing on an old Springfield 87E, it was badged as a Springfield, but manufactured by Marlin. just my 1.5 cents ![]() Edit: Just remember'd, the 87E is made by Stevens, NOT Marlin....my badd.
