Day three duck hunting

Well,
left the digi cam in the van & the batteries went dead due to the cold.

Took my first vacation day in two years to hunt today. Taking another monday to hunt. Working on 40 year old aerospace vehicles Saturday & Sunday.

We had a few divers (ring necks) buzz the blind. A nice bunch about 3 minutes before shooting time. We stayed legal & ethical even though some others were not. Some mallards looked at us. Don't think we had enough blocks out.

Ran out of time to eat breakfast (logged into G&G at 0300) My buddy had licorace. Yum Yum, makes the brain think your getting food. Ran out of coffee at 1000. ARGH!

Came home with one Red Head hen. I wanted the 2 drakes but it wasn't to be. I haven't taken a Red Head in years. She will make fine table fare, Along with 2 wood ducks, 3 ringnecks (grain fed) and 2 mallard drakes.

My bud's 25 HP Merc had an issue with the tiller handle on the way in. Didn't have to get towed though. If you ever get towed, that guy will show up to hunt everytime untill you are 80 & remind you of it every time!

The new Sx2 is holding up it's end of the bargain. I can't let the 870 go. It stays in the boat with 2 3/4" fodder to chase cripples, or if someone has a malfunction that threatens to put them out of the game.

Happy hunting all,
Jerry
