But those 55 grainers coming out of my .243 SS are so hot.

I think the lightest is probably 55 grains, but 125 is a lot more practical.

With a high powder capacity casing, including all .30-06 length .30cal,s I find no benefit and often a lot of disadvantages to light .30cal bullets. In personal experience I have been sucesful with 125gr on up with the 150-165gr doing the best on varmints.A high capacity casing can be loaded to fps enough to expand the bullet so they arent much of a problem with riccochettes. samuel.

Well, it was a joke, really.... but I have heard of plastic .223 rounds made by the French for practice (though, I wouldn't doubt they'd use it for defense too... in the hopes that when they surrender they'll be treated better).

Ditto that. This one got in the way of deer hunting

I just bought a Ruger Hawkeye in 308 caliber, because of the population explosion of coyotes here in So. Ark. I am intending on helping to reduce them with my new gun...Will anyone tell me what factory cartridges in 308
would be the best to use.
There have been several reports of rabbies in our coyotes population.
Any help with the ammo would be appreciated....Mike

AH, the best one is the round your gun likes the best. Maybe try firing some 150 grainers, and see how it shoots.

The 150-165gr factory loads do the best. That isnt much of a problem as that is what you find the most of.Brand name is.I like Federal or Winchester but Remington is okay.Blackhills puts out a good round but it is pricey. The important part is buy one brand and sight in using only one brand. samuel.
