Hi ya Oxford
Thank You for the pictures, always nice seeing other folks hunting expeditions.
Looks like a comfortable warm day out there. But it most likely was chilly in the AM?

Thumbs up

Earl...Yes, the temps started around the low 30's and moved up to high 40's by noon for both Sat. and Sun. Unfortunatly, we saw absolutely no/zero turkeys while hunting. However, as we started our drive back home we had to slow down to keep from running over a turkey hen that was hustling across the road in front of us.(ha) We were only allowed to hunt for gobblers, though.

In the pic where I was standing, the two fellas on the side of me were my two son-in-law's. The three of us also hunt deer in the same area.

You might have seen my turkey decoy in one of the pics. It was definitely at risk. Whenever I snoozed off and suddenly awakened...I would see that turkey and temporarily get ready for a shot. Luckily, the decoy survived.

I was using a turkey box caller and at one point another hunter and I, not with our group, unknowingly were calling toward each other. He was using a hoot owl caller and I had a gobbler sound maker. After about a dozen calls at each other I fugured it had to be another human making the hoot owl sound in order to startle any turkeys around into exposing themselves. That was the most excitement of the hunt.(ha)

I've titled the thread May 26-27, 2008, which isn't correct. It was actually April 26-27, 2008.

Thanks to an eagle eye member whom I won't mention who caught this error. Guess it's "back to the future" which the member suggested I might be trying to do.(ha)

And Yes, Jerry, that's my Sweet Sixteen setting there, along with my Turkey box caller which is barely visible on the log.

Morning OX
Yep i saw the decoy in one of the pictures, looks like mine the realistic blow up kind on a upside down L- Plastic Stick? I can't remember the brand name but they work very well. I had on occasions some young jakes come in on these and got such a laugh at them wondering Why the beejeebers isnt she interested in me.........LOL......Some other adults on occasion have done the same as i was cat napping also...LMAO...Thats how i lost one of em, the dang tom wouldn't let the decoy alone so i shot him and the decoy.
Yep that was one of the times three other fellas were with me and they never let it go, still crank on me about shooting two.....
