Suppressor advice - small game hunting

First, suppressors are legal here...

I woke up my neighbors this morning with a shotgun blast. They're used to it, so they never mind. But my shooting position left me wanting a small caliber rifle with a supressor. A .22LR would be nice, but some fat geese out there call for something heavier. I'm thinking about getting a .222 for this and other purposes, but I have no experience with suppressors except .22LR and our full auto military weapons fed with sub sonic 9 mm.

Much heavier calibers are common with supressors here. I can imagine you'd get a good "pop" as the bullets from these goes super sonic. So will the .222, but what's it like, still, anyone?

I used to work in southern, middle and northern Norway, and boy did I fall in love with your country and it's awesome people!

When I grow up I want to return to Norway as a tourist...

A 223 with a good can on sounds like a 22..... job done, MAE or High country supressors are both good ones out of New Zealand

Hi, I live an hour's drive north of Oslo, by the lake Mjøsa. Inland country, and no seal hunting here I'm afraid! I've worked in the north for some years too. I have relatives there, and I'm totally lost in that part of Norway too... Imagine fishing huge trout and arctic char at midnight, and the sun is high on the horizon!

No trouble finding good supressors here. They are common, and I get a dealer rebate even. We're getting new service weapons this winter. Changing to cal. .223, or 5,56 NATO as it's called. (HK416). I imagine the .223 is a bit to fast and may cause to much damage in the birds. But I have no experience with it. The .222 is said to be a bit "nicer" with that. So I figured I'd go with that, or some other equivalent. It'll likely be used on small deer as well. But I have a deer gun already, so this one is to be specialized for the large birds we have here.
