Anyway despite BRG3's comments, I am still soliciting advice about the best gun for me to learn how shoot with. Does anybody else have any advice for me? I really appreciate it.

S&W Is indeed Smith and Wesson. See 22 Pistol post under General Handgun. Sorry to be short, but I need to run somewhere and get mental help (actually academic help)

Yay! I'm learning. And what's funny is I don't think I picked that up from you BRG3. I think I've heard of that before at an antique gun display at the Met in NYC. I need to go back there when I go home.

Smith and Wesson is an American classic, so it makes sense that you'd see their stuff in a historical display.

I got to handle a Walther P22 and it was quite alright, and well priced. I like standard configuration and controls.

BRG3 if your looking at a 22 for her why not the Browning Buckmark or the Ruger Semi Auto both are great guns and she can have a ton of fun with little expense - plus the gun is a great competition gun.
