Have you thought about an inside the pants holster? The type clips on to the top of your pants inside the waist band?

I have not thought of that. When I get a snubby it will be a lot easier to conceal.

Be careful about that. The revolver can be very uncomfortable carried that way, because the cylinder pushes into your abdomen. It is especially trying when sitting in a car. An auto has flat sides, and I have found that to be more comfortable.

If I carry a snubby I wear a high ride holster by Safariland on my belt. The holster itself is small, and access to the gun is very fast. But the gun has to stay covered by a shirt or jacket. Generally, of course, I wear the dreaded fanny pack.

Since I have a winter in NH, I sometimes just drop the gun in a coat pocket. Also, if I am slumming, I just tuck the gun into my belt and cover it with a shirt. When I get into the car I tuck it under my leg for easy access, and when I go into a store I have it tucked back into my jeans.

It remains an undeniable truth that if you are not willing to dress around a gun...the gun that you carry will have to be smaller. This is not gender specific. If I go to my company's summer picnic, I pocket a .25 auto or my Mini-Revolver and leave a .38 in the car. Same with the Christmas party. I want to be able to relax and not have to sit in a certain posture to keep the gun hidden. North American Arms specializes in small concealment guns and holsters to keep them hidden.

TexasT, have you looked at these? http://www.ccwsupply.biz/ConcealCarryPursesPage.htm
Another option if you wear a vest or jacket, would be a shoulder holster. FWIW, one of the sexiest girls I've ever seen carried twin S&W .38 snubbies in a dual behind-the-back rig.

TT, take a look at CLIPDRAW...For Secure Carry Without a Holster

That might work well for what you're talking about, as long as you wear a belt or your clothes are able to carry the weight of your pistol at the waist.

Ok, lemme see. I'm doing a little research on the spot here.

Here's some stuff I found and stuff I was given as suggestions on other forums It may help, especially with the jutting hips thing women seem to have.

I am finding on Galco's site a thigh holster, small of back holster, ankle holster, of course your usual shoulder holster which is great as long as you don't ever take your coat off, "defense planners" which I am assuming wouldn't be much better than your carry case. All of Galco's women's top picks: Women's Galco Top Picks

You've always got the belly band option, which is ok if you use button down shirts.

Pocket holsters are ok, too, if you aren't carrying a full sized weapon.

Concealed carry systems for women boost sales - Arms and the Woman - Column Shooting Industry - Find Articles That article gives a number of different suggestions out on the market currently.

Kramer's has a few holsters for women: Kramer Handgun Leather: Revolver holsters, concealment holsters, paddle holster, 1911 holster, ankle holster

Hope that helps some. If you want any more information, let me know, and when I go back to work I'll hit up some distributors and see what I can track down for you.

Thanks SuckLead, that's really helpful. Men don't always understand the things on a woman's body that makes a gun hard to conceal lol. These guys are no help when you're actually being serious lol.

Purses are great, but I had my purse snatched one time before and I would never consider using a concealed carry purse for that reason. If my purse got snatched with my gun in it the possiblities are 1. now we have another criminal armed and/or 2. I'd chase him down and probably beat him half to death to get my gun back.

T.T., I tend to keep my gun in a pancake holster, but, of course, having "birthing hips" makes it impossible without the aid of a jacket or vest. I have done the ankle holster, and it isn't so practical when you really consider an attack. Small of back is a good option if you remember to take it off in the car (I have a horrible fear of that gun breaking my spine in a car accident). We have one at work that holds the gun up-side-down SOB, so when you draw it is facing how you need it to with little to no adjustment. It is, however, an outside the pants rig.

Something I have found that works IWB is to keep the gun possitioned in front of my hips or behind. It stops jutting while also making it easy to draw and keeps the gun free of my spine. It also seems to blend a little better with women's clothes. You may want to try it without a holster in front of the mirror to see if it works for you. If it works, then you may want to consider one of those Uncle Mike's nylon jobs for IWB because they are thin and soft and won't add much thickness to the gun. Plus, they're cheap.

P.S. I hear you. If I hear one more guy make a comment to a woman about holding a shotgun in the pocket of her shoulder I am going to scream. I always thought I was missing something. Apparently, I am... this pocket in the shoulder men seem to have that women tend not to have. Not their faults, but hey, it's fun yelling at them.

Fanny pack:
They are very stylish.
They are inexpensive (the sporting goods models)
The gun is right there in front of you, but out of sight.
You never have to wonder if your gun is showing, no matter how you move.
In the car, you can keep it unzipped on the seat next to you.
One size fits all, "birthing hips" not withstanding.
A regular fanny pack (not a holster rig) accepts any of your guns.
You can keeep an extra mag or speed loader in it.
I could go on, but the marvels are there for you to imagine...

Sorry toolman. That wasn't directed at you more than it was directed at billy and Triggerjerk. They're the useless ones lol.

TJ, I'm 24 years old...I'm not wearing a fanny pack.

Well being of the "Mike Venturino" size and composition I tend to carry concealed beneath bulky clothing and I carry large caliber revolvers .45 Colt to be exact. Never been stopped and questioned. But never had to "pull it" thuis far, either!
