My Mosins

I figured that I would start a separate post to show ya'll the Mosins.

First picture is the Pretty Mosin that I can't figure out what it is chambered for.

This picture is the three shootable Mosins. The camo stocked scoped one is a 1952 M44 with the bayonet removed, the second one is a 1941 M38, and the third one is a 1924 hex reciever 91/30.

And just for giggles, here is my favorite at the moment. This is the Romanian PSL without the scope, I just didn't feel like diging the scope out of it's box. But my avatar is the PSL with the scope on it (if you can see it well enough).
.

So, I've showed you mine. How about you guys show me yours! (That should get the guys all in a tizzy!!LOL)

Good looking guns there! Have you had the chamber checked on the top one to make sure there isn't part of a case broken off in it?

How rude of me.... Yours are very nice. I'm itching to get one of those Romanian PSL's myself. I'm not sure what the legality of owning one is in NY(Commie-land). I was also curious how that scoped M-44 shot. I was under the impression that they are sighted for firing with the bayonet extended. Yours is removed. I guess if it's scoped, it doesn't really matter since you just zero the scope where the rounds are impacting. Nevermind.... just answered my own question.

I've been over that gun with a fine tooth comb. The bolt won't even close fully with the extractor in it's proper place. As a matter of fact, after I got the gun home, I found the extractor taped to the inside of the magazine. But I only paid $100 even for it, I ain't complaining. The stock itself is worth more than that. I plan on replacing the barrel with a 91/30 barrel. But I'm gonna copy what I saw some guy at the gun show had done with a couple of his Mosins. He took and polished certain parts of the gun but left the rest of it original. Might sound odd but it looked really cool. I would have bought that 91/30 he had if I hadn't just slapped down alot of money on that PSL. Maybe he'll be at the next show.............

Call Brownell's and order a small brick of Cerrosafe. With this stuff, you can make a chamber casting and see exactly what you have. It's cheap, reusable, and can tell you a lot about all of your guns chambers. Brownells - World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools
