I think that if you like them, you should get one. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And guys, lets face it, we do make choices of whether we like the matte finish or SS or parkerized etc. Don't throw stones if you live in a glass house.

TW, r u sure u were logged in? Sometimes a post won't go through if you returned to a forum but did not log back in. Otherwise, it does happen sometime, on pretty much all forums.
Now, about those pretty guns! Ha! I love this topic. fact is, I spend a lot of time tracking down my tools: chainsaws, pitchforks, toolbox, drills; they all just disappear whenever one of the guys needs em. So one day I picked up a can of really tacky hot pink spray paint and painted the handles of my fav's. Funny, they didn't walk as far after that!
meanwhile, I'd been using hubbies "big guns" last 15 years or so, both at the range and popping off the predators that go after my livestock. Seems like he'd always take the nice big one and hand me the little 22, and I'd say, "hey, how come I get the girl gun?!"
So... he picked up a remington870 pump action shotgun for me w/ nicely carved pink and black wooden stock. It isn't tacky or cheap looking. But it is definitely not going to be "borrowed" by the guys. fact is, this is the first time I could shoot w/out him taking my gun away and saying, "here, lemme show ya honey," which ofcourse, he couldn't do when he was off fishing and I had a fox chasing my chickens.
To be honest, it is not for everyone. It takes a bit of attitude to pull it off because ot attracts attention. But I will say this, the boys (the kids I mean) have absolutely no interest in my "girl gun" And the little girls, who have always been too squeamish to even show an interest in shooting, are a not problem and never have been. But at least now they look at me and say, "hey, she's a girl, like me. And she shoots. H-m-m..."
I don't much care for the tacky plastic pink stocks or the hello kitty guns. But hey, this is America. Folks will get tired of them or not.
As for laws? Seems like we are always asking the government to fix things that we ought to fix ourselves and then whining when they don't babysit us well enough. hey,
The Price Of Freedom Is Eternal Vigilance. (Tom Jefferson, gun owner and farmer)

Common sence really. If you need the gun when some phyco comes into your house to rob or kill, do you really want your weapon possibly giving away your position with its hot color?? Keep the girly colored guns for the range!! Just my 2 cents

... some are lookers, some are shooters. Personally, any business gun should be a shooter. The looker hangs on the wall.

I just don't think firearms look good in pink and pastels. I'm not a huge fan of those colours, but I think certain objects just don't look good in them.

I dunno though, Mad Hatter, chrome or nickel would draw the eye as much as any bright colour would, so no big diff in my opinion.

Now that we're on the subject though, I would love to see a wider selection of colours in firearms for the average consumer. Right now we tend to have chrome, nickel, brushed steel, blued, black, and camo.

With the increase in polymer construction, I think we could certainly increase the available colour selection. We've already seen more greys and beiges for urban camo, why not go all out? I myself think a gun in violet, very dark purple, or a dark blood red would be great looking, or maybe a solid hunter green.

Maybe interesting patterns too, like tiger stripes!

I tried that. But, my daughter beat on her bedroom door until I couldn't stand it anymore.

By the way I love the idea of a pretty gun, Pink or what ever. I guess I am just a girlie girl, i don't know. I wouldn't want a hello kitty or something like that. Just something with alittle pink one it.

this whole thread is just wrong. guns are simple buisness, no colored bubbles. they should all be shiney (stainless, gold perhaps?), ivory, maybe pearl grips, a small fuzzy dice on the hammer, and a little speaker that says "woohoo" just before the trigger gets pulled all the way. anything else takes away from the seriousness of the firearm. LOL

I agree, the girls guns are best on the range. But then, the varmints who stalk my livestock don't get much of a look at what I'm shooting. And every design is different, isn't it? One guy says camo is cool but pink is awful, another says pink is ok but hello kitty is unacceptable. Some of the girl guns are nicely done and some are just really tacky. Again, I do have to say that a touch of pink does keep the guys from borrowing it. That is my primary goal, is to say, "hey, this is actually mine. Not hubbies hand-me-down."
I draw the line at anything geared to kids. But I like the girl guns if they are made well. That is the bottom line.

i personally like my guns to look good, but what can i say i'm shallow. if you're "looking good" is pink cammo or lipstick prints, then who cares and who am i to judge? do you know how to use it? that's all that matters. i'd never be caught with a hello kitty gun, but i'm not into hello kitty anything.
besides, who cares if no one takes me seriously before the match starts? its just another way to psych out the guys. its one thing to be beaten by a girl but a whole other thing to be beaten by a girl with a 'girlie' gun, lmao. i can hear his buddies harassing him about that for a long, long time.

You certainly have a point there, shootergirl. It's the accuracy that counts, color is only preference.
