| How do you carry your semiauto? Ladies, Just wondering: If you carry a semiautomatic, do you carry it with a round in the chamber? Being new to carrying a semiauto, I carry mine with the safety off and no ammo chambered. Is this something I may need to reconsider, although it is the most comfortable way for me to carry? My main worry is an accidental firing, amongst other things. Thanks.

| MrsS, I realize you're specifically asking the ladies, but there are a couple threads now with quite a few opinions that you may be interested in reading on this very topic: http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/ccw...carry-gun.html (Question on how you operate your Carry gun) http://www.gunandgame.com/forums/ccw...ber-empty.html (Leaving a chamber empty?)

| Mrs.S, If your main worry is accidental firing the empty chamber is the safest. It can't fire with an empty chamber but it will take you a few extra seconds to chamber a round under pressure if it is necessary to shoot. I prefer a Para Ordinance Light Double Action .45 which allows you to carry fully loaded and chambered with the hammer down. Squeezing the trigger moves the hammer back and fires the round similar to a double action shot with a revolver. In your case with a youngster around probably the empty chamber carry is the best.
