I really like this Ron Paul guy, he seems like the only guy who doesn't have screws loose. After all, Mitt Romney and his magical morman underpants makes me worry a bit about people

You don't believe it, check here: Independent Conservative » Blog Archive » Does Mitt Romney Wear Magic Mormon Underpants?

I'm a demo, and i hate Hillary, and baracks ok, but not enough experience. All the repub candidates are turds except Ron Paul. What with guiliani and his 9/11 bandwagon bs, the republican party is sinking slowly into the abyss

Well, all of you Democrats better not say a damm thing when Hitlary is enacting legislation to take every gun we own. She is the clear front-runner and we all know who the minorities, women, and illegals will be voting for. I pray to God that Fred or Ron gets their s**t together enough to pull off a win, but I'm worried that there's going to be too many "fair-weather fence riders" in this election. Look at all of the turncoats that voted for the war who now claim to've been against it from the start.

Broad-brushing a little there aren't we, toolman? Do you honestly think all the women in the country are so stupid they're gong to vote blindly for a female candidate? They didn't do it for Geraldine Ferraro or Elizabeth Dole, did they?

Go tell my wife you're lumping her into a group of fools entitled, "women, minorities and illegals" who can't be trusted with the vote, and you're likely to come away with a black eye.

I think that at least my wife knows Congress enacts legislation, not the President.

Are you advocating that illegals should have the right to vote?

No; I'm saying he lumped my wife in among the people who shouldn't vote.

If you interpret what I wrote as supporting illegal-alien voting, you're probably deliberately mis-reading me, and trying to change the subject.

toolman didn't say anything about who shouldn't vote, but about how they well vote.

Hey Troy, my brush is just covering the ever-expanding crowd of Birkenstockers who gush about how wonderful Hillary would be as president. My wife doesn't fall into this category and I doubt that yours does either. My biggest fear is that the idiots who don't take the time to learn the issues will vote Hillary into office just because their favorite actor is voting for her. We all know how most of the Hollywood "elite" feel about the Republican party and how quick they are to use their fame to spread their opinion. I'm very concerned about the current attitude among voters in America, more are voting, but many have no idea what they are voting for, they just vote for whoever Hollywood or their college professor tells them to .

Toolman's the one who said, "we know who...illegal aliens will be voting for." Go ask him if he thinks they should vote, and stop pestering me.

I just thought you were a little quick to lump women and minorities into the category of unthinking voters, toolman. As I said, women haven't flocked to vote for female candidates in the past. Geraldine Ferraro was certainly a liberal darling of Hollywood, and it did her no good.

And in spite of all the agitation from the Republican Party and conservatives, the Justice Department has found no evidence of illegal aliens voting in any kind of significant numbers. With a Republican Congress for years and a Republican President for two terms, I think they'd have uncovered and addressed the problem by now if it were as pervasive as talk-show hosts would have us think.

I agree with you that I'd rather have ignorant people stay home, instead of voting their prejudices or as activists tell them to.

Troy said (among other things) " With a Republican Congress for years and a Republican President for two terms, I think they'd have uncovered and addressed the problem by now if it were as pervasive as talk-show hosts would have us think."

[b][color="DarkRed"]I'll tell you why the Republicans haven't uncovered too much. There too damn pre-occupied with covering their own azzes from trashing the Constitution, tearing this country apart and all the illegal stuff they've pulled.King George was elected two times (read stole election before his opponent could) because he was the "lesser of rwo evils". I agree with that theory. Now, it looks like the American People will be facing that same delima for a long time to come. And I called myself a Republican. You can't be a staunch Dem or Repub anymore, if you have a conscience. You have to be able to throw all the crap up in the air and see what falls down and what blows away.

From everything I've seen and read, Obama isn't really a Christian or a Muslim. He's a pluralist, also known as a religious liberal or universalist, who believes that one could follow almost any religion and find God in it. You'll find people in Christian, Jewish, and Muslim communities who are ultimately pluralists. I just wish that they would call their beliefs what they are instead of calling themselves Christians or anything else and then trying to take over the Church or other institutions. Presbyterians, Episcopalians, Methodists, and United Church of Christ members like Obama should call themselves Unitarians and be done with it. Instead they're taking over the Christian Church just like the Arians did in the 4th century and replacing Christianity in its own pulpits with something else.

Angry He's not much of an American, in my opinion

And here's my proof. Can't trouble himself to even put his hand over his heart while the pledge of allegence is being recited. And this scumbag wants to be prez? In a pig's eye!And Hillery ain't much better. She looks like she's bored with the pledge.

A non-patriotic president, that's exactly what we need.

You been to a ball game lately, Rufus? You notice how many people don't even bother to stand up, much less do anything with their hands?

I'm not bothered that Obama isn't putting his hand over his heart; at least he's standing respectfully and paying attention.

But I'm surprised his handlers didn't slap him up alongside the head and tell him he has to play the game right. I think someone else mentioned that he had been told about this, and I didn't really believe him; that's like refusing to kiss babies.

Wonder if some personal belief is involved, or if he just wasn't thinking?

The email that keeps blanketing the country about him is pure bs; check it out at snopes.com, the site that debunks urban myths:
Urban Legends Reference Pages: Who Is Barack Obama?

So he's a Catholic. Isn't that worse than being Muslim?

Here's a wild and crazy thought, dhermesc: if hanging around Muslim kids in elementary school doesn't mean he's a Muslim, maybe hanging around Catholics in elementary school didn't make him a Catholic. Last I heard, he'd been hanging out at the United Church of Christ in Chicago for a good chunk of his adult life.

By the way, I have some friends who might want to talk to you about why you believe being a Catholic is "worse than being Muslim."

Just goes to show you that we don't really need Muslims to spread hate; we have plenty of so-called Christians doing the job for them. If some of them had their way, Catholics and Protestants would go back to killing one another in the name of Jesus, like the Shi'ites and Sunnis in Iraq are doing in the name of Allah.

You make me proud to be a Christian, son. Gives me a warm feeling all over...or is that just indigestion?

I'm registered Independant. But I gotta go with the Dems this year. It's a broad-issue thing because I do not like Clinton's record on firearms legislation, but I do not trust any of the Repubs not to continue to mess up the War on Terror. McCain scares me, frankly. After what he went through, the idea that he'd be even vaguely okay with torturing prisoners really worries me.

And yeah, I don't care what someone did. No torture. We're supposed to be better than them. let's act like it. Interrogation is an art and a science, and torture just makes people say what they think you want to hear. You need to be smarter than them to get what you need.

The mudslinging against Obama is some of the lowest stuff I've seen in a Presidential election in my lifetime. I'd like to forget how racist we can be as a society and how intolerant of other faiths, but people just keep reminding me.

Here's hoping Bubba is a moderating influence and he can use some of his diplomatic magic to help get things back on track.
