I agree with tlarkin on something.

ZOMG, if hell just froze over that means the Royals will make the World Series and the Chiefs the Super Bowl!

WOOHOO, glad I bought some of my friends lower level season tickets for the Chiefs this fall!

A life membership for a five year old child would be a wonderful gift.
That way, look at how many years the nra could send him/her mail wanting more and more and more money. He/she would never feel alone there would always be something for him/her in the mail box.

If I was going to buy him a lifetime membership, it would be in GOA, not NRA.

I quit the nra around 98 and went completely with GOA and that is where I am now. Larry Pratt really fights the anti gunners that's why the media don't talk about him. His fight is serious. I don't think he would set down and "do lunch" with Chuckie Schummer.

If you are following orders, have more guns, and tanks, I don't see how its not possible. I agree though, a gun ban will never happen, but the worst we will see is some restrictions.

Never happen, all guns at one time. That's not how is is going to happen. One type at a time. One owner at a time. Kill one owner and scare the guns away from a thousand. Not too many people WANT to die, some may be willing but not many WANT to die.

Will they go to a gun owner's house to take him and his guns?
Yes
Ruby Ridge
Around 300 officers and agents against 2 men, 1 boy, 1 woman, and 1 baby.
The guy's wife and friend died.
Entrapment, everything they said against the man was a lie.
They were in the wrong but it still happened.
Did the officers or agents question their orders?
No, they thought they were after a "bad guy".
Don't judge what they will do by what you would do if it was you. They WILL follow orders.

Well there is always

Gun Owners of America
and
Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership - Homepage

I would recommend them before the NRA anyway.. but thats just me...

NRA still stinks of anti-gunners...

But the members are usually well meaning great gun owners that just don't see it yet.

NRAWOL - A critical view of the NRA's compromises looks like it has some good info on the topic....

One at a time is how they did it in the UK.

started with semi-auto full bore rifles. then,
Semi-auto & large capacity shotguns, then,
cartridge fireing handguns,
now they are trying to ban replica & deactivated firearms
more restrictions on Air guns.............................................. .................................................. ..
It goes on & on...............one little step at a time..............

Did they use the Military to collect them? Did they pay you for them?

No You had to turn them in at the local Police station. (Remember all our firearms were registered!!!!!) The cops in the UK have a list of all firearms held by license holders and regularly check them on license renewals.
Only things that weren't registered at the time were shotguns and conservative estimates have it that up to 3 million pump & semi-auto shotguns "disappeared" overnight!

Yes, we got monetary compensation from the Government.

Well in my state it is a bit different. You don't register your firearms, you actually just do a background check and then gain the ability to acquire them. However, they do have record of all your background checks, so if you get ATF background checks multiple times they will assume you are a gun owner.

As has been said before, one step at a time............In the "old" days we could own full auto machine guns, but maybe that was the first step, you're not even allowed to own a converted one now.
Watch out for the "registration" ruse.
If you know anything about how bureaucracies work you'll realise that they keep RECORDS! Every ATF background check is logged. Come the revolution, there'll be midnight knocks on your door!!
