Bye-Bye Fred...and thanks for his contributions to the 2008 presidential race.

I figured he'd go soon. I liked his ideas, but he came across so cold, and acted as if he wasn't really serious about being president.

I kind of saw this coming. I had hoped I was wrong. He just came into the race way too late and didn't have the backing of really anyone except the NRA and had he stayed in and had a chance, about every gun owner would have voted for him. It is a scary thought to even think that the Democrats will not only control the House and the Senate, as they do now, but will more then likely also hold the office of the Presidency. They'll pretty much pass everything and anything they want and there will be no way of stopping them. Get ready for STHTF. Quote:

| Bad campaign strategy and timing
He was just too old and too far out of the public eye to be taken seriously. Also, he started late with too little in the bank. I do think he had a lot to offer in terms of morality and honesty. An earlier start with millions in the bank and a good p.r. firm would have helped immensely.

I supported Fred early on, but he had one of the worst campaign staffs in history. His advisers were really asleep at the wheel. He came across as ambivalent, cold and sometimes uninformed. The thing is - I know that he is none of those - he just had a major PR problem. That was his staff's responsibility. Looks like we are down to Huckabee and Paul. Huckabee is still in the fight, but I don't think he will make it. The liberal media is against him. I love Ron Paul (have his sign in my yard), but he is way to polarizing to ever win the nomination. I guess I will vote for him anyway just to clear my conscious. I hope the Republicans retake control of one house of congress! Otherwise, I think we are in for a rough ride. Maybe the Supreme Court will make a ruling on the DC case that supports our Second Amendment Rights before the Executive and Legislative Branch decides to trash those rights even further. It amazes me how the second amendment is trashed everyday by various governmental bodies and no one outside our group (NRA, GOA, etc.) seems to notice or care. Does no one even realize that the Second Amendment is second only to freedom of speech and the significance of that. I don't think that was a coincidence. The founding fathers realized that to protect the other rights people must be allowed to keep and bear arms. Throughout history, tyranny has always started with the disarming of the populous. Looks like history may repeat itself once again. |

I felt sorry for Fred when I read he threw in the towel. I am a Mike Huckabee supportor and Fred was my 2nd. choice. I don't like the way this primary chit is set up !!! I feel like it's to early for canidates to throw in the towel especialy Fred. Us working gun owning folks don't have hardly any choices now and you know of all the canidates left Huckabee is the only one I'd vote for and he may have to give up due to running out of money. God help Us ! |
