| Hillary or Obama? Is the US ready for either?
First and foremost, please do not take offense to this post. It is a legitimate question. I am not sexist nor racist. Please take the question for face value: Do you think the United States is ready for an African-American or a female president? |

I would hope so that we have progressed enough as a nation and as human beings to accept a non white and/or woman president. We preach equal rights, but do we really practice them?

| They were doing that before our court systems were even in place. Every government is about self interest in every modern nation which is non socialist. Its not a trait of a profession, its a trait of a human being.

Can you all, calmly and maturely describe what is wrong with Hillary and Obama? Why aren't we ready, and do you think that the Republican canidates are actually better, and why?

I think all of the candidates lack a backbone.

I am not ready for the huge scale of socialism they both support. Whenever you hear something like "For the greater good" it usually means we all pay and reap little reward, if any. Obama has NO experience, and Hillary might as well not. Want to see how good she is lawmaking? Look at the New York public school system, by far the WORST in the entire nation, one of the worst public school systems of any industrialized nation. She contributed to that, no doubt about it. Sure Obama is a great speaker and charismatic, but he has been campaigning longer than he has been a senator. Has he accomplished anything of any significance? No. They both have NO foreign policy experience at all. I don't care if Hillary did spend 8 years in the white house, so do the maids and cooks and all them people. I am actually scared that either of them will be elected, I am down right frightened. I don't see it as black or white or man or woman, I see it on a political plane, and neither of them are any good at anything besides campaigning.

A professor in an Engineering class that I recently took made the statement: To show what's wrong with our Government, and why China is doing so well, look at it like this: Most of our Government is comprised of lawyers. Most of China's government is comprised of Engineers, Scientists, and Doctors... |

You know, while I'm at it, I'd like to make two more points on this topic. 1) It's interesting to me how so many folks in Washington (and elsewhere in politics) ARE spineless. I've seen one after another paraded on TV, talking about the nominations, but won't take a stand and back one. I saw the Gooood Rev. Sharpton saying he needs more time to hear from both Dem candidates. WHAT? More time? No, he needs more time to see who's going to get the nomination; he doesn't want to be seen as backing the losing horse. And where is Al Gore? Is he off inventing another internet? He's been quiet recently. He doesn't want to endorse anyone for the same reason. As soon as there's a winner, he'll be out blabbing in support of the nomination and is global warming bunk. There are more in the same boat. As soon as there's a clear nomination, they'll come out of the woodwork saying how great the winner is. Totally spineless. Liars, the bunch of 'em. No integrity whatsoever. 2) You know who else wants the Dems to win? The terrorists around the globe. I think the comparative safety in Iraq has not been entirely due to the surge, but a decision by terror groups to calm it down leading up to our election. I think this was done on purpose. They don't want someone strong on defense in office. They want it off the front pages as they know Americans can't remember past last Friday. Anyone?
