First of all, what fools. If they only knew how fiercely I would fight for our 2nd Amendment, they would never have even attempted. The text of this is sitting in their in-box at their website. Second of all... there had to be a reason for this mass-mailing knowing how anti-gun the leadership of this state as well as Obama's state is ... WARNING WILL ROBINSON, WARNING !!!!!! I remember well the attack on President Reagan. I understand your drive, truly do. Now, that being said... consider these statements. They are not meant to incite or anger, but merely to bring up thought and discussion: Do we ban vehicles after fatal vehicle accidents? Do we ban alcohol after people die from drinking? Do we ban meat because of heart related conditions? Do we ban the sun for skin cancer? Being a gun owner, a military member and a police officer, the last thing you want to see is a bad guy with a gun. Try going after the criminals, strengthening penalties against criminals who use guns to commit crimes and deal with gang bangers harshly who use guns to commit crimes. Do not, however, go after the law abiding civilians like myself and other fellow legal gun owners. Do you really believe the laws prohibiting legal gun ownership in D.C. is a good thing? You need to look into the states that allow the civilians their 2nd Amendment Right... NOT privilege, and see how legal gun ownership stunts crime. You are attempting to go International with your anti-gun agenda. It is not your place to do so... and the U.N. has no say whatsoever in what Americans can exercise under the rights granted to them by our founding father, George Washington. Our founding father made this country... knowing the threats we would face and made these decisions. An unarmed society is easy for the Govt. to abuse and for the people to be over-run by nefarious, foreign governments, including their own. Last edited by LarryO1970; 03-11-2008 at 03:40 PM. |

I delivered mail for 10 years and remember talking to one of my female patrons who was a conservative christian getting quite angry with me and my stance with gun ownership. She felt we needed "gun control" and I was simply, "Going to have to give up some of my rights." I'll repeat it again and I don't know who started it (maybe even someone on this forum) but I agree wholehearted, "The day I have to bury my guns is the day I use them." I know talk is cheap and all we'll see if I walk the talk. But I am starting to get really "P'd off" at them.

Lol, Larry to have seen your face when you found yourself on the Brady Campaign mailing list----Priceless. I didn't do it but I thought your reply was well taken.

| Um, yeah... I dropped a Pringle and my dog scoffed it up. What morons. While I sympathize with the Brady family loss during the assassination attempt, I feel they are going after the wrong people the wrong way ... and are fighting against the U.S. Constitution. That being said, they are wrong, period.

| I'm sure my response was not what they wanted to hear ! After a good lashing... I told them to remove me from future mailings asap. That was about as bad as the Jehovah Witnesses knocking on the door at the Vatican looking to convert the Pope... Idiots... |

Don't sweat it, Larry. I still get emails from them. But, for a different reason... I used to be one of them.... Long ago. But, I saw the light. I'm still a liberal, I'm just a pro-gun liberal. It is possible that one of your friends is having fun with you. I occasionally get emails in my junk mail folder from some far-right wing-nut Christian organization or some crazy conservative nonsense like that and I assume that one of my friends signed me up for their mailing list as a joke. Kind of like when I signed a friend up for the PETA mailing list even though I knew he was a voracious carnivore. Just harmless fun. |

No doupt the Brady Campain is trying to hold on to Wisconsin. Wi and Illinois are the only two states left that do not issue Carry Permitts. It's 38 states now that issue "shall issue" permitts and 10 more have prequisites restrictions. Personally, hope you stay on their list. You'll have a better understanding into their warped minds. states with "shall issue" permitts have either seen a decrease in violent crime or non-increase. Im on the MoveOn.org email list. Talk about some wacked people? Very intertaining but sad that some people buy into moveon. When they sent out mass out emails to email your congressman or some other poor soul. My responses are "Atta Boy!" "Give em hell!"

| Military Rifle Collector ![]() | Concealed Carry v. Waiting Period Laws. In 1976, both Georgia and Wisconsin tried two different approaches to fighting crime. Georgia enacted legislation making it easier for citizens to carry guns for self-defense, while Wisconsin passed a law requiring a 48 hour waiting period before the purchase of a handgun. What resulted during the ensuing years? Georgia's law served as a deterrent to criminals and helped drop its homicide rate by 21 percent. Wisconsin's murder rate, however, rose 33 percent during the same period. Thinks that about says it all. |
