Hillary Clinton and John McCain both ripped into Barack Obama Friday for reportedly saying residents of small-town America “cling” to interests like guns and religion because they’re bitter over lost jobs, a remark his opponents interpreted as arrogant.

Maybe this belongs in the political forum, but this is pretty typical of o (and h for that matter). "Cling to guns and religion" ...... Can someone tell me what's wrong with that ? Want values in ourselves, families, and children and want to make America strong -- when have these become liablilities ? !

So the dems get a choice (IMHO) between an evil self-serving (also elitist) witch and an incompetent (elitist) "speech maker" buffoon. Boy, THERE'S a dream team.

Typical "I'm smarter than you and I know what's best for you" approach -- only you're not and you don't.

We can do better than this. I have trouble believing people are so easily fooled.

Silly! Don't you know that we aren't supposed to cling to family, god, or guns?

Obama, and Socialists/Communists in general, want us to cling to them.

The State is your family.
The State is your god.
The State cares for you so you don't need guns.

We cannot let those two in office!

If you go very far back in time to the era of George Washington, Adams, and Hamilton you will learn they were Federalists to the core. That is, they felt the country should be run by the asset owning, intellectual elite for whom the masses would provide a docile and loyal "followship". Clinton, Obama, Gore, and their pack are simply living Federalists, not democrats, as they pretend to be for the media.

Fortunately, the citizens of America awoke to the Federalist viewpoint and elected Thomas Jefferson, a Republican, who felt it was politically important to empower the average American and government should bend to the will of the majority.

It is once again time to toss out the Federalists.

Mr. Troy 2000 you may be as you claim to be--- a resident armed liberal, so were our founding fathers! But your defence of H2 O peas in a pod is to say the least very discombobalating. Of course you have a right and perhaps a duty to stick to your philosophy. And I shall defend to the death your right to say what you believe. However I do take umbridge at your belittling B. D.'s opinion and I dare you to deny that both Hitlery and Obomba are Socialist adventurers to their very core! they both bear a chilling, uncanny resemlance to the leader of the Nationalsozialistiche Deutsche Arbeiterpartei in the 1930s and 40s IMO, not a physical resemlance but philosophically. If either of those people become the head of the executive branch of the federal gov't, you, along with everyone else who believes in the U.S. Constitution as it is written is in for a hell of a ride!

Nationalsozialistiche Deutsche Arbeiterparte was the official German name for Hitler's Nazi Party. So before you get in my face again, Cyrille, you need to make up your mind: are the people Big Dog was dumping on Nazis as you describe them, or Communists as Big Dog likened them to?

They're hardly the same thing, you know (in spite of the fact that most conservatives couldn't tell me the difference if their lives depended on it). As a matter of fact, the Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands (Communist Party of Germany) was banned by Hitler after he came to power, and many of its members were killed by the Nazis. Thousands of them were sent to concentration camps along with the Jews, Gypsies and other "undesirables."

I can not tell you how they are different.
Know what?
I don't care how the differ.
I care how they are the same.
Those two and the liberals want to bend pepole to the will of the government.

Very good point Lee. How they are the same: Get rid of capitalism (nationalize production); The state should hold all power; Disarm the populace; Get rid of all religions. Hmmm, seems to me the similarities are more important than the differences.
