A bill will pass and the ones that it affects will scream but the ones that it don't affect will set quietly by because it don’t affect them. After the emotions calm down, the next bill will come, then the next, then the next, until in a couple of generations the guns will be gone. Enjoy your guns while you live, your great, great grandchildren won’t have them or want them.

It seems to me that during the years of the Clinton assault weapon ban there were many televised shoot-outs between cops and criminals where the criminal still had assault weapons while the rest of us could not. That should be proof enough to a common mind that that the ban did not deter crime. It's all about control. Which different...a single dictatorship or a collective dictatorship? They both want the people (aka: subjects) to be sheep-like. NOMW!!!

The lawmakers know and understand that it is about gun control and not crime control. They are not morons, they know perfectly well what they are doing. They want us to think they are morons so we will just yell and scream at them. Yelling and screaming don't affect them on bit.

I suggest that we, as indiviuals, each take "pen in hand" and write the NRA about our concerns and ask that they with all that money they get from us buy national T.V. time and get the message out. I have written all of my state representives and one of my US senitors concerning the 2d Amendment issue(s) the other senetor is under inductment and a demoncrate so it would just be a waste of my time and a stamp to write him.

If we do this our great grandchildren and great great grandchildren will still have their Second Amendment rights intact. That falls squarely on our shoulders now, Not tomorrow or the next day. Now.

Our liberal media will downplay and put their spin on gun related stories portraying the evil guns as the cause of anyone being shot. It is difficult to reach the sheeple with any true information on gun control.

You're right our rhetoric doesn't bother them...we need to vote them out of office and send them packing...then they would see the truth. I live where the people know the congressmen they have are do nothing idiots but these fools keep electing them back into office...go figure. I would love the opportunity to take a loaded "assault weapon" to an interview with an anti-gunner, lay it on a table, and after the hour interview have them tell the audience how many people that weapon killed during the interview...none...duh! It takes someone to squeeze that trigger... Last edited by oldjarhead; 05-02-2008 at 09:31 AM.

I guess because I live in a small town that I am bitter and "cling" to my guns. It is crap like that quote that the sheeple swallow whole and never take the time to digest. While a sane normal person will just puke up garbage like that, The sheeple eat it up. That is what the left is feeding people. It is garbage like Obama's above words that we have to battle to overcome. It is not easy and it never will be. All we have to do is prove idiots like Obama and Hillary wrong by not being what they claim us to be. Hell most Politicians cannot understand middle American because they have never been to middle America. Most we born and raised into wealth and privilege. Most have never had to struggle to keep their families fed. Most have never had to hold a real job for that matter. My point is that if any of these Washington elitist scum were to ever walk a day in my shoes or any working mans shoes it would probably kill them in less than a day.

That's too close for comfort to me. I personally think this country is headed to heck in a hand basket, and all we can do is sit on our guns, play dumb, and hang on, cause it's going to be a bumpy ride. I'm not saying we shouldn't fight for our guns, but we also need to realize that these things are a very real possibility. There's a very high probability that the next president will disarm the country, or come close to it, and then we'll all be up a creek. We either need to make a *huge* stand now, or just stop trying. Talking will only get us so far. I think it's time to act. Write our senators, call them, e-mail them. Contact pro-gun groups, the NRA, etc. Sitting around and talking won't accomplish a thing.

... there are far too many gun owners for there to be any real possibility of a gun grab. Any politician who actually has the balls enough to attempt it will be committing political suicide. ... anything more will cause a march on Washington that has not been seen since early in our Country's' history... the people will take it back. |

Sir, I agree with you one hundred percent. It is political suicide, but how many of our past presidents have done so? Once in office, what do they care? Look at Bush. What hundreds of acts of political suicide has he commited? But at this point he couldn't care less. I think we *need* a march on Washington. I'm a bit an extremist, but I think we need to start over. Our government has become extremely selfish and corrupt, and I think it's time for a new set of people who run it. Politicians as they sit are unfit to lead for the most part. The rare one you find that does run for some big office is usually not voted in because of too many passive voters. I think at this point voter turn out is the only way we really stand a chance in this next election.
