Exclamation Clinton outlines $4 billion anti-crime plan

... Other provisions would target identity theft and on line child exploitation. Clinton also renewed her call for reinstating the assault weapons ban, which expired in 2004.

Therein lies the problem.

Angry

Ms. Clinton will sugar-coat the gun ban with other "Sensible" ideas to pander to the naive sheeple. Enough 'sweetness', and she'll one day get the stinkiest crapola passed. We gotta remain on guard against this nonsense!!

Passing anti-gun laws is not an anti-crime plan. They do not lower the crime rate.

I know that.
You know that.
They(the ones who will take our guns away) know that.
BUT, there are a large number of voters that will believe anything.

I think if we really want to get something accomplished in regards to her gun ban plan then we need to do more advertising. You would not believe the number of people I've spoken to about this issue who looked at me like I had three heads. They had no idea that she and Obama both plan on reinstating the assault weapon ban. Now a lot of people I run into when I tell them about this, their first reaction is, "Who needs an assault weapon anyway?" People don't realize just what this ban would include, especially Obama, who's even against anything semi-automatic. If we really want to do something the first thing we need to do is not vote for these people, and if they do get into office we *have* to stand firm and not let them pull this garbage. We've got to find a better way to get the information out there. Too many people have no idea what's going on.

A great deal is going to depend on how DC vs. Heller is ruled upon. That ruling ought to come out sometime in the next 60 days. Even if we get confirmation of an absolute, individual right to keep and bear arms as Ashcroft defined it, we're still not home free. What happens if (as seems possible based on the questions the justices asked both attorneys) the rule the states can establish "reasonable restrictions" on what private citizens can own? The Supremes seemed to be thinking about machine guns (they did not define the term; did they mean things like the M1919A4, the Ma Deuce, the M240, that is, crew-served weapons; or did they mean things like full-auto AK 47s, M-16s, MP-5s, Schmeissers, Thompsons and the like?), but it's a baby step from there to "reasonable restrictions" like HR 1022, the Pataki Gun Law, and outright bans on handguns.

The pending ruling on DC vs. Heller is one reason gun control hasn't played much of a role in the primary process. That's going to change the day after the ruling is published, no matter what the Supreme Court decides. All we legal gun owners and shooters can do is pray they take the intent of the Framers into account far more than they do the nanny-staters who want disarmed subjects to rule over.

My sole point in this argument is this, if they support a ban on "assault" weapons, or any weapons for that matter, how much further of a step is it for them to ban all guns.....?

Give the devil an inch, and he'll take a mile.....

Yep, education is paramount! I figure there are three types of American citizens - The Pro-gun folks are the middle-sized group, but largely non-vocal. The Anti-gun folks are the least numerous, but rabidly vocal!
The Non-gun folks are most numerous, and haven't a clue. These are the people we MUST educate to the TRUTH.
I meet many of them who actually believe the now-defunct AWB made AR-15s and AK-47s ILLEGAL to own! They are shocked when I tell them the truth of the old AWB. Even more when I tell them the truth of what constitutes an ASSAULT WEAPON. Generally, they end up agreeing with US about the stupidity of such laws.
Too many believe whole-heartedly in the absolute lies and mistruths being spoon-fed them by the Brady Bunch and other rabid gun-grabbing activists. They see far too much MSM "news".
Lets get the word out! Our freedoms and favorite hobby/past-time depends on it.

My question is how? What are we suppose to do? Stop strangers on the street and ask them if they're aware of current gun laws? I can talk to my friends, but how many of them will remember what I say, and pass it on to others? What I would like to see is the NRA take a stand and publish some well publicized information in regards to what Hillary and Barak are going to try to do to our guns.

You cannot force the sheeple to listen. If it comes up in a conversation the best thing to do is not get emotional about the issue but instead stay cool and calm and relay the facts to them. Either they will listen or they will not. The best we can do is try to educate them about the lies of the left and their real agenda when it comes to their attempts to abolish the Second Amendment.

The goal of the liberal left is the disarmament of America so they can enact their foul agenda without the worry of having to deal with armed opposition from it's citizens. Just look at Germany before WWII the Nazis disarmed the population and look what happened. Australia is a good modern example of what happens when the population is disarmed, Their crime rate has soared and their Government is able to do whatever it wants without worry of an armed population to contend with.

Gun control is only good for the criminal element.

Scary thought.

Gun control is only good for the criminal element. That statement would make you a good signature line.
