GlockMiester: Sir; what do we do now? Liars creating a position of convenience with a manipulative attitude. Somewhat cavalier isn't it.

I have from the office of R-NC-8th district Rep Robin Hayes a ?listing? and brief of the
H.R.5782 [110th] Title:Secure Access to Firearms Enhancement [SAFE] Act of 2008 Sponsor : Rep Boozman [R-AR-3] [introduced 4/14/2008 Cosponsors 35

"To amend chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, To provide for reciprocity in regard to the manner in which nonresidents of a State may carry certain concealed firearms in that State"

Section 1. SHORT TITLE.

Thhis Act may be cited as the 'Secure Access to Firearms Enhancement [SAFE] Act of 2008

A mouthful. In my copy it shows the Representatives. I'll post if you want to see and read or send via e-mail

Tying the two together; one pulling the other; one right and the other wrong. Manipulative isn't it.

Another anti-gun group with a pro gun name. Shades of Slick Hillary and Slick Willy.

Yeah, this group (AHSA) is as anti as the brady bunch--advocating "reasonable" gun control while actually being gun banners. Designed to fool people but only fooling fools.

A "gun" group endorsing obama ?

Maybe I ought to start selling things if anyone is fooled by this.

I've heard of this group before, and it's true: they're basically the Brady Campaign in camo.

quotes from wikipedia:

In August 2005, the National Rifle Association said about the AHSA:

* "... they want to allow the FBI to keep records on law-abiding citizens who buy guns and put an end to gun shows as we know them. Not to mention the fact that they want to regulate .50 caliber rifles in the same way that machine guns are regulated."

* "The most telling thing about AHSA is its leadership. Bob Ricker ... is a former NRA employee who switched sides and has actively worked for gun control groups for many years now. ... John Rosenthal ... is one of the founders of the Massachusetts based group Stop Handgun Violence, a group that has been a major force in passing some of the most Draconian state gun laws in the nation."

* "With leadership like that, there is no doubt about the true goals of AHSA. They are trying to fool hunters and gun owners with a soft sell ... while working behind the scenes to end the sport that we all love."

* President of AHSA, John E. Rosenthal, is one of the founders of the Massachusetts anti-gun group, Stop Handgun Violence, a group instrumental in having many anti-gun laws in Massachusetts passed.

* ASHA officials have testified in favor of gun control legislation, such as Washington State bill SB-5197 which aims to restrict sales at gunshows.

* ASHA opposes the views of the BATFE and Fraternal Order of Police concerning the Tiarht Amendment. These law enforcement groups claim ASHA's perspective would jeopardize both lives and law enforcement operations.

Paul Helmke, the President of the Brady Campaign, says of the AHSA, "I see our issues as complementary to theirs".

As far as I've been able to find out, this group's actual membership is almost zip; it's all chiefs and no Indians. Apparently a handful of gun-control advocates made it up and appointed themselves to office, so they could claim to represent sportsmen and gun owners while they did their anti-gun lobbying.

You mean the people in that particular little bunch of anti-gun hypocrites play a dirty game.

There hasn't been any particular stampede of liberals as a group rushing to join them, as far as I can see.

I've posted about them before.
Good job guys. ASHA is an anti-gun group. They share the same Washington DC address as either the Brady Campaign or the National Democratic Headquaters.
