Wisconsin based ATI Gunstocks has posted a preview of their new rail system for the VEPR series of rifles. VEPR already comes with a pretty nice wood stock, but ATI takes the AK variant to an AR tactical style look. The forearm offers a 7-sided nose cone that can anchor itself into any corner for added stability control. The forward stabilizing nose cone is made of lightweight military anodized aluminum giving the gun better maneuverability around tight spaces as well.
If the slim profile of the railing system wasn’t enough, ATI offers the signature Scorpion Pistol Grip to reduce wear on the shooter, along with the patented Scorpion razorback recoil paid to save the shoulders of shooters shooting some of the larger calibers the VEPR offers. With an adjustable buttstock and soft touch cheekrest pad, shooting for hours will not only become more enjoyable by shooters of all varying sizes, but more accurate as well.
I’ve had the honor of holding a VEPR with this new stock on it, and the pictures simply do not do it justice. It took an already quality made rifle to a whole new level. This isn’t simply changing a stock on a gun, it finds a way to offer a sexy look with improved function on an already proven platform.
I look forward to being able to posting more detailed pictures and videos of testing this new product soon. Until then these pictures will have to suffice, try not to drool too much on your keyboard folks!
ATI Gunstocks will start offering these for preorder in the coming weeks, but look for them to start shipping right after the new year in January 2013.
