SIG is expected to show off their new MPX submachine gun. Said to be “The next generation of submachine gun”, being the submachine gun to work with a fully closed and locked rotating bolt system. The MPX uses the signature SIG Sauer short stroke gas piston system that is used on other SIG rifles currently in production.
The SIG MPX allows for “in the field” changing of barrels to meet the needs of any operation. The firearm comes in multiple configuration from semi-auto, and select fire for government teams. The SIG MPX will come in 9mm, 40 S&W, and .357 SIG. The the different barrel configurations offered the longer .357 SIG could very easily offer armor piercing capabilities where M4 or MP5 setup is not an option.
