Windham Weaponry: Bushmaster Founder Starts Again!

Last year Bushmaster decided to close down it’s manufacturing plant in Windham, Maine. This didn’t sit too well with the founder of Bushmaster who got together with other investors to start a new firearm manufacturing company, called “Windham Weaponry.”

More than half of the 73 experienced workers will be hired to start producing arms, slated to start by September of this year. The press release also stated the following:

“A group of investors felt there was a great opportunity for a new company when Bushmaster Firearms International LLC decided to relocate the company to another state and lay off all its employees. These employees in many cases have 25 years of experience in making one of the finest rifles in the world.”

Freedom Group owns more firearms companies, names, and trademarks such a Remington, Harrington and Richardson, DPMS, and Marlin, to name a few of its most popular brands.

It seems that the non-compete clause of the contract with the Freedom Arms expired in April of this year, so the founder of Bushmaster, Richard Dyke, is now free to pursue interests such as this.
