Getting a hunting license renewed has always been a tradition for most of us before any weekend adventures. With hunting season almost upon us, it’s important to brush up on all the local laws, and apply if not renew your hunting license before buying any new gear this season.
A resident of Salisbury, NC, agreed to a deal where he would agree to pay the Kentucky Deparment of Fish and Wildlife Resources $5,300 in restitution and a $50 special penalty. The restitution is for the hunting fees the man failed to pay from 2002-2011. Along with that penalty, he agreed not to hunt anywhere in the world for two years.
The man was a resident of NC, hunting in Kentucky. He was required to purchase a non-resident hunting license and deer permit prior to going hunting in Kentucky. It’s reported he transported a 14-point white-tailed deer from Kentucky back to his home in Salisbury, North Carolina. He also failed to report before transporting the deer. In 2010 he also failed to report transporting a bobcat as well.
