What is your favorite .270win. 130gr factory round. I am asking for an old friend. I like the 130 gr win. light mag. This would be for deer and maybe elk.

Is this a question of pure curiosity ,or does he want to find factory ammo to shoot for his hunt ?

If it is the latter, he will need to shoot various brands until he finds an accurate sample, bottom line.

I have nothing to offer in the realm of curiosity as I do not own that caliber.

He recently bought a new Remington 700 in .270 win. He says he doesn't notice a big enough difference in accuracy between the premium ammo and standard to justify cost. So I am asking based on terminal performance and individual experience.

It depends on what your gun likes, but I've seen excellent results with Hornady Light Mag ammo using the 130 gr. Interbond bullet. My stepson really likes Win. SuperX 150 gr. ammo in his Savage.

If I'm not mistaken, the advantage to premium ammo isn't necessarily in accuracy. It is mainly a better bullet. Correct me if I am wrong guys, it's been a long time since I used factory ammo. In any case he needs to find out which load and brand shoots well in his particular rifle. It will change from gun to gun.

every gun is different, you need to find what works best in that rifle. whats most accurate in my rifle may shoot absolutely terrible in an identical rifle.

So how is .270 all in all? Is it a good all around round or no?

Glockmeister the .270 win is an excellent round. If you want to read more look up .270 and Jack O'Connor. I guess what I should have ask was, what is your personal favorite factory round.

Best .270 130 gr factory load

The best performing (terminal performance) .270 130gr factory load I have found is Winchester SILVERTIPS (not the soft point). You can find at WalMart/K-Mart, just look closely, as the boxes (used to be) nearly identical. But the bullet tips look totally different. The Silvertips are about $10/box more, but for a deer hunting round, definitely worth the price difference.
