Lovin it! I'm wondering if my father got me a giftcard to the gun shop I took him to. Was looking intently at the GSG-1911.

I wish Her Imperial Majesty had thought to give me a gift card for what she paid for my big present this year instead of what she got me.

No guns or giftcards and the money I did get is already allocated towards paying off a credit card bill and paying for a trip in January. I could have bought my GSG-1911 or a nice revolver. Ugh

So what did she get you? If I'm not being too nosy that is.

Got this Remy 597 VTR with a red dot and 30 round mag. To bad we're snowed in here in Va Beach and the range is closed.

A 32 GB iPad with WiFi & 3G capability. She thinks I'm too obtuse to figure out she wants it so we can use the iGarageSale app for estate-sale hunting in the spring. For what that thing costs, I could have laid away the HK-94C 9mm semi-auto carbine at the local gun shop and had it in my hands before the tax return money came in!

She also did the equivalent of the 1950s "give the wife a bowling ball when the wife doesn't bowl" routine. She's been railing for years about how bacteria accumulate in the cracks and groove of a wooden cutting board, which is why I have three synthetic ones I run through the dishwasher after I use them. She gave me a lovely joinery work WOODEN cutting board and told me I could use it for cutting vegetables. The thing is a work of art. I told her I wouldn't use it and I'd stick to my plastic cutting boards that are dishwasher safe, thank you. She was delighted to take possession of it.

She also gave me a pile (like a dozen) of T-Shirts with a science fiction-y motif mostly. I very rarely wear T-shirts with any kind of writing or pictures on them. I wear either plain colored T-shirts or I wear Hawaiiian shirts when the weather is warm enough for T-shirts. She knows this. More than a little irksome!

The infuriating part is I put a couple of catalogs in her purse with the pages that had things I wanted on them in her shoulder bag, with the items circled. Shows how much thought she gave to buying presents I might like, doesn't it?

I didn't get a gun for christmas like I was hoping. Instead all I got was a little baby boy. Anyone wanna trade a gun? I'll even throw in some cash.

Ahhh, think of the fun you and him will have buying guns in a few years.

Congratulations, and I hope him and mom are doing good.

When you get a chance to shoot it give us a report on it wily1. I'm considering getting one of those at some time.
