I've been looking around with not much success, I have a Savage model 12 heavy barrel in .223, and I'd like to replace the stock that is came with, something more comfortable and sturdy...anyone know who makes stocks for Savage rifles? Knowone seems to have a list of stocks that says they fit Savage. Also, are there any decent stocks that are not gonna cost me an arm and a leg?

when looking for a stock for a savage you first need to determine what you need. the old and new style (they just changed in the last couple years) have different screw spacing. the old style has the staggered feed magazine, and the new has the straight feed. easy way to tell, remove the action from the stock, if the magazine stays attatched to the action, you have the old style, if the magazine stays in the stock you have the new. check sharpshooter supply, they make them for both styles.

    Savage stock

I have 3 of the B&C Duramaxx stocks, 2 for 12fv and 1 for 110fp. All were 100% drop-in. Midway USA has them in a variety of colors. the black is generally $99. If you can wait monitor their site for a sale. One of my black ones was $79 and a black/gray spiderweb was $99 on sale.
    GOOD LUCK and GOOD SHOOTING!!!
