Can someone please give me a year produced and value on this gun.
Winchester Model 90 .22 WRF i beleive it is the takedown because it has a large screw under the action that looks like it will take the butt off.
the camera is a cell phone so its not the best, there is no rust at all on this gun and all original looking parts doesnt look like its ever been taken apart, shoots straight as an arrow shot it last night.
    serial number is #5538**
like i said no rust at all just alot or blueing i think is what its called.
value and year made would be great
see pics in my photobucket link below

    Casey,
That should be a Model 1890 with that serial number. It was made in 1916. It doesnt have much Blueing left on the gun , the original finish is worn.
It is a " takedown with Blue finish" rifle.
By the Blue Book I would value it at around 450.00 in its condition.

keep it cleaned and oiled, dont refinish it or steel wool it or anything stupid!!!! i personally dont go by blue book, and i place it between $600-700. of course if you priced them like cabelas does, it would go for over a thousand.

    Amen!

Like they told Rick on Pawn Stars..."that pistol would be worth 2000 bucks if he hadn't refinished it...
so you can either sell it for $600-700 restored or Bury it for a few years in your backyard so it'll get a nice patina again..."

The difference is in Models and caliber...The same gun in .22LR is worth 50% more in any condition. The very early ones in Mint shape are worth the most.
A 98% original shape first model solid frame is worth $12,000-15,000 .
A 98% original shape second model takedown is worth $8,000.00
A 98% original shape Takedown with Blue finish (The Most Common) is only worth $3000 in 22WRF but is worth $4500 in .22LR due to rarity.
Prices drop Fast due to C O N D I T I O N...worn Guns with bad finishes or no finish left aint worth diddly to a collector...its a Shooter plain and simple. A refinish is automatically a 50% value cut and possible more if Original parts are replaced like stocks, Barrels, and buttplates.

You may not like the Blue book but every gun dealer and pawn shop uses it for retail value and we appraisers use it for Value/ insurance purposes.
There are lots of Overpriced guns out there on auction sites because there are Idiots willing to pay way more than the true value because they don't have a clue.

these particular rifles typically bring more than book value, and im not talking about auction sites.
