Numbers are not always just numbers...

17 years ago on April 19, 1995 at 9:01am, Oklahoma City was peaceful. At 9:02am, it changed forever. 168 people were killed; over 680 were injured. The youngest was 3 months old; the oldest, 74.

Numbers are not always just numbers. We will never forget the 168. May God bless all of your families today as you remember your loved ones.

friends - say an extra little prayer today for Oklahomans today as we remember those who were lost, injured, and who bravely risked their lives to save our neighbors.

I still tear up at the pic of the fireman carrying the dying baby. I'll never forget that day as long as I live. Miss Wanda worked two or three blocks away and I parked real close to there and walked around the building to work. If we'd still been there, there's a fair chance that one or both of us wouldn't be here anymore. What still troubles me is the loss of very young life. A lot of the fatalities were babies and young children. The building housed a Govt. Daycare. A very sad day in our history. I have a piece of the building with the date and time written on it.

Yep, I get an uneasy feelling deep in my stomach when that or 9/11 are thought about. May GOD Bless them all, but mostly the wee ones.

Another tragic day to remember tomorrow - Colombine. So many lives lost by needless acts.
