Dude, I have no idea how to sell you my Ishy, as I live in Indiana! I paid $350 for it, in an ATI sporter Stock--that's $100 less than the cheapest one I had found in two years. I also hae a lot of ammo toe liquidate too, if I find a buyer, because it's the only 308 I own. Shoot pretty good, really.

I was so impressed with the changes in my Mini-14 that I bought an Accu-Strut for my Mini-30 which I haven't fired yet.
You should be able to find a used Mini-14 for under $500. Mine is the older model with the huge front sight...got it for $450.
Try for the wood stocked rifle, it's easier to work with, IMO.
      Then add a bi-pod.
You will be amazed at the change in accuracy and the appearance of the Mini-14.

I recommend you start with the Mini-14 and later, if you are so inclined, get the Mini-30. I guarantee you the accuracy issue with the .30 will drive you crazy...lol

I then replaced the rear sights with Tec Sight adjustable sights; primarily to make rear sight adjustments easier and faster. I've never been a fan of having to use a pointed bullet to change my sight dope...or a special tool.
I then added a longer flash suppressor I got from the Country Shed. Easier to google Mini-14 parts and then click on the Country Shed. I find their web-site difficult to locate the parts you're looking for. The flash suppressor doesn't really do anything for the accuracy except lighten the recoil and muzzle jump some.
It reall adds class to the Mini-14 though.

Spooker, who told you that? lol
I don't think the mini series rifles can be made real accurate without replacing the barrel with a bull barrel and modifying the gas block to accomodate the heavy barrel. The barrel Ruger puts on their target model has three different diameters through which the bullet must travel; thus their dampening system. To do the barrel right would be expensive...lots of machine work.
That said...I improved the accuracy of my Mini-14 by nearly 50% bu adding an Accu-Strut to the barrel. This provides the barrel a stiffer support and will reduce barrel harmonics...it doesn't make a tack-driver...but will increase the chances of getting that pesky Yote. Just google Accu-strut...cost about $100 or less. I bought mine direct from Accu-Strut.
