Cremley, I enjoyed reading that article on the constitution and the tea party movement. I haven't been reading as much lately as i used to (been busy) but that sort of thread helps me become inspired to get out of my winter hermit mentality and start drumming up some good old fasioned Americanism!

That post was me quoting greenninja5150 on his project. But he beadblasted his gun and mount to match the silver scope....as far as i know, he just oils the receiver since it's steel and will rust....something i thought that would work instead of oiling is if you could find some durable clearcoat, and apply it to the gun, mount, and scope....that way if clearcoat changed the tint of the gun a lil, hopefully the same effect would happen on the aluminum mount and scope....but if it's a good quality clearcoat and the receiver isn't miscolored, or dirty, it should work really well. If i were you i'd experiment it on a cheap BB gun or small piece of smooth iron/steel pipe first to see if the clearcoat keeps the polished steel look or if the tint changes any.

Hi Chris and congrats on your new shotgun...With every thing going up that's still a great deal on a well made shotgun.
Like I've said it's ashame that it's made in china and very similar to the 870 Remington.
I did find out that the 870 barrels will not fit the H&R with out doing some kind of minor metal working.
I really think you'll like it and it will give you many years of good service.
I can not wait to take the 20ga. squirrel hunting and I'm tempted to buy the police model pardner.
I just got home and thought I'd take a look around g&g so Thanks for the PM and have a mighty fine weekend...I'm so tired !!! LOL A.H

the scope on my .17hmr got bumped and i had to zero it again, GET THE REMINGTON V-MAX!!! i shot a 3shot group with all 3 touching (couldnt get a pic we went nuts on the target with a mini 14 lol) i shot some more groups to, all under half an inch. so if you get a chance to try the remingtons DO IT!
