I was a cop there for 26 years, retired in 99 and moved to AK. I lived in Monument and ran a horse boarding business there for about 5 years. I have 4 sons and 6 grand kids there. I will be coming to the Springs area latter this month for an old cop (CSPD) reunion. If I have time and you would like we can get a cup.

I cannot for the life of me remember where I first heard of adding a pinch of salt to the brew, but I've been doing it forever. Perhaps it was first used to "cut the edge" for someone using harder water? I do know that salt is used in water softener systems, but have yet to figure out exactly how that works!
Regardless, when I brew my pot in the morning, I'll think of you and raise my cup in a toast! I was out of milk this morning, I only add it to cool it down so I can get AT 'er, but it's perfectly enjoyable "au naturel..." lol

Careful with the salt! LOL I just use a "dash" on top of the grounds in my 12 cup brewer. Never tried one of those presses... I've tried every brand of bean on the market, even the exotic stuff from Cup O' Joe's, and the 8 O'Clock RED bag is my bean of choice, above and beyond all the rest. I grind it pretty fine, too.

      Great to hear from you!

BaserRonin I hate bullies and that is exactly what anyone who engages in hate crimes is a BULLY, they deserve to be treated aas such both under the law and on the socieital level. To hate with no clear and valid reason is wrong but often times there are those whoe can convince themselves and others they are right and their actions and crimes are right. It is a sad situation with no immediate end in sight I only can hope we grow beyond it.

The thing that drives me up the wall is having my statements taken out of context. That is one reason I usually don't go in the powder keg that much. That and trying to use logic and practical experience with people who only know theory, really get under my skin.

You do know that logical arguments are hate speech right? Good job! Jim

Well nope I didn't pick up that mosin. I haven't had that dough to get it yet. My moms living with me until I can put her in the nursing home. So No I down't know when I'll pick it up. I hope sometime this month.

Yep I have a dehydrator. I make a lot of it when I get a deer. But I make a nice bit into steak!

I would love to make some jerky and sausage if I get a deer tag next year. The one from last year I just turned into steak and smaller steak. It makes great fajitas. I have never tried anything fancier then steak and steak cubes with my meat.

My dad used to make deer, elk and cow jerky sometimes. I should go get a dehydrator and learn how to use it before we (my sister hunts with me) go out in October looking for those elk!

Well great to hear from you! I don't know how all that stuff works. In Arkansas we don't have to deal with that. I hope you get an elk! I love that meat! But deer is the best I can get here. I like to make my own jerky. I'ts surprisingly good! Well like I said it was nice hearing from you. Give me a hollar agian sometime! Talk to you later AC.

Well, my Girlfriend got accepted to Vet School in Iowa. Great news for her. That means I need to start looking for a better job though! I wonder what tech jobs in Iowa pay.
