I just want to thank you very much for your response it was very well done, and I enjoyed reading it. It gave me a lot of insight into what I was thinking about. I don't know if your at all interested, but I think I'm probably going to go with the Savage because I will not be using any kind of vehicular "assistance" on my hunts being young and youthful :). I do like the idea of a nice looking gun, but when it comes down to it it'll probably take a beating, and I'd rather not cry myself to sleep at night over a bump... Also, do you have any experience with the 110 or know the difference? I can spend about $1,000 (I'm getting a summer job) on rifle and scope. I've heard good stuff about the Leopold VX-II do you have any experience with it? Otherwise I'll probably go with a Burris full field two, do you have any input on the two? Or if there's another I should consider? 3-9X-40 is a good zoom for an area like Colorado, right? Lastly after the scope, and rifle I'll still need to mount the scope, and without the Ruger I'll have to get the mounting units on the side... What do you suggest for that?

Thank you very much for all your very helpful advice,

      Daniel

      Hey,

I read your post on my thread about wood vs. synthetic stocks. I would just like to hear what you have to say about your savage, and ruger. Which do you like more, and do you think 30-06 is a large enough caliber for deer-elk? Also what model of savage, and ruger do you have? Also what scopes do you have on those rifles?

      Thank you.
