love your pics - especially your M14.
That one is probably a blast at the range.
The M14 is my next buy, but I'm certain it wont be as nice as yours.

I have researched non-firing training rifles for many years and have recently opened a web site relating to this subject. http://user.pa.net/~the,macs/ You have posted a picture of your dad holding a Parris-Dunn Training Rifle. May I have permission to post it on my web site?

Swingman, Don't know what you mean exactly...Where to buy, History? Available models?
Right now you probably would have to scan the auction sites for Makarov's since I don't think any Surplus dealer that has them stocked. There are Bulgarian, Russian and East German Maks out there, the German are some of the best, where many Russian ones are commercial. That is really the type of question that is better asked on the forum. Like I mentioned before by knowledge of Maks is limited. I own one Russian but didn't get into anything more regarding them.

MMMM! LOVE the looks of that Ithaca 37! That's a COMBAT shotgun par excellence!

And that M-1 is a nice one, too! I've seen far too many that aren't worth much more than as tomato stakes. As a 4th-grader, I used to help out in the NG armory cleaning M-1s after weekend drill. I could field-strip, clean and reassemble an M-1 almost as fast as the troops! (I always had a little trouble with the recoil spring -- I wasn't as strong as everybody else...)
