I use tiny rectangles of the blaze Day-Glo orange price tags.
I carefully cut it out,use tweezers to position it on the blade.
Then coat it with super glue.
It lasts for years but can be removed in seconds with nail polish remover.
i tried different colors and the orange worked best for me.
at a dollar store or whatever they sell packages of round day-glo stickers in various colors and thats what i used.
the hardest part is getting that tiny sticker on there straight with tweezers.
i did all my handguns and all the rifles with iron sights
total cost?
under $3
Very cool! I did something similar on my Ruger mkIII22/45, It had a solid black front post that was hard to see. I used white model paint, and using a toothpick painted a small white dot on the breech facing side. works wonderfully! I have also thought about using yellow/green glow in the dark paint, which is out there just hard to find and more expensive.
I have on occasion used a bit of orange model paint to brighten sights on rifles where the front sight was hooded and had "tiny" posts which could be difficult to see. One must be careful as they can get scuffed. I like the price tag thing - although it clearly requires a bit of patience to do a good job. lol
I picked up a bottle of fluorescent orange nail polish at Wally China mart, and did the front sight on my CZ & my Thunder and it works great, however they both have 3 dot sights, not standard front blade / ramp, so it works really good and lasts a long time.
