Supposed to go offshore on the 13/14th for Cod, Pollock, Ling, Giant Seabass and Scup. Shipping out from Freeport New York @ 10pm. Supposed to be fishing the "Texas Tower". Overnight weather is supposed to be in the teens, but it should be a freezer filler. If I don't die, i'll post photos, once I thaw out.

Don't forget warm flexible gloves, and a thermos of hot strong coffee. :D

Just out of curiosity.
On the east coast, do they sell outdoor/fishing boots called Xtratuf's?
This is the #1 boot sold in Alaska.

Yes, I have the short ones, good for both winter (with a thick pair of socks) and summer when wearing shorts. Great boots BTW.

In from the storm! Fishing was good however, we never got onto any schools of Cod, Pollock, or Ling. We DID tomahawk the sea bass though! It was COLD at 6 am out there for fishing and my hands are now screaming about it. It warmed up later in the morning BUT, between fishing spots, it all of a sudden got REAL cold again and then THE SNOW!! All in all, it was a good trip with many Jumbo Sea Bass landed. I'd do it again.

For good reason they keep you warm and dry ( with the proper felts and shag rug type inserts), and very safe from slippery decks!
I've walked up sloped chutes with water running on polished aluminum.

I looked at the open cooler and could swear I could smell the fish!

Did you have an icicle hanging from the tip of your nose??? Rosy chapped cheeks from the cold wind...
I had stuff hanging from the nose, but it wasn't an icicle! Believe it or not, the wind was at a minimum and the water was for the most part calm, really nice conditions for the time of year, until in between the last drop when the snow showed up.
