12G slug vs big bore pump

    Would you rather have a big bore pump(30.06 or larger)or a 12G pump with 72cal rifled slugs? On any game close range.

    I use 12ga 3" RWS slugs on deer all the time at 150 yards or less, they drop where they are standing...

    Close range? Give me the slug! Look at your poll. What the tarnation is a "bug bore?" LOL, just havin' fun with ya!

    I posted on this a while back, being as I was thinking about adequate defense in grizzley territory. Being as only Remington still makes full power centerfire pump rifles, and they only go up to 30-06 (did a short run in 35 Whelen), I think we could use a bit more variety. I myself would like to see a pump in 45-70. Maybe one reason is that I haven't quite gotten the hang of lever actions yet. Always catch some finger somewhere. Someday...

  8. My 12 isn't set up for hunting. Self defense only. 3 in. mag 7/8 ounce slug. 16 and 1/2 in. barrel.
