other gave me these.Is this small number worth messing with, or just throw in the scrap metal pile?

Never throw them away. Give them to someone who will load them. If your brother reloads, buy a box of the cheapest lightweight bullets you can find and load them down. The little 100-110 grain loads can be loaded to about 3300 fps. Load them down to about 2500 fps and they have very little recoil but will kill deer or hogs or coyotes at 200 yards easily. When they are fun you shoot them more.

i'm set for life on 0-6 cases.... so much so that each of my 0-6's has at least 500 of a single brand dedicated to it.
appreciate it though.
