I loaded some 30.06 for my m1 and was checking the first few rounds for function. I noticed light strikes on the primers. Whats going on? Also the same round in 1903a3 would close but bolt would not rotate with out force. It is lake city brass, FL sized in rcbs dies. the same round 165 gr sized with new bass(win) in same die works great. Both trimed rto length. With gage both seem to be the same dimensions. Have loaded for years not had this problem. Any ideas???

    Charlie,

How did you prep the brass? Military brass have chrimped primer pockets. If you don't clean them out, the primer may not seat below the case line.

Also did you check the brass after you primered them? My RCBS auto primer dimples the primers (Fed Match)as they go in.

Heck ALL of the Talon surplus ammo has dimbled primers.
