Ok, I got my dies, all I need is a shell holder and I'm set... Maybe. I've decided to use 180gr bullets for hunting because of the general selection available and to standardize with GunGeek, who has the rest of the reloading equipment. Here's the question: Is 4320 powder, which he uses in 30-06, suitable for 300 RUM? If so, what would the load be? He has the latest reloading manual on order, but it has to be printed first. I would obviously start with minumum loads. I've been advised before to watch for high pressures, but how would I know if the pressure is too high?

The first sign is a flattened primer, or buildup of metal around the firing pin dent on the primer. Also a brass ring on the bolt around the firing pin. also look for really shiny areas on the sholder of the case.
