great handload combination try using hornady 168gr boat tail hollow points 44gr of imr 4895 powder cci rifle primers extremely accurate loads

  2. Were you using .311, .312 or .308? 91/30 or carbine?

  3. If its a .308 I couldn't see it shooting that well unless its for a Finnish M39 or something similar.

Unless you slug your bore, you're kinda peeing in the wind with a Mosin. .308" bullets don't group worth a crap in a Mosin with a .314" bore.................... tom

Have yet to find any .308" bullet that shoots as well as my .311" bullets, and that includes my M39.

yeah, Prvi 150 gr soft points loaded... it runs 16.99 a box or barnul 203's at 11 bucks a box (steel case tho)

  12. I've used Silver Bear 203gr SP's for deer and they're about $11 a box. It worked alright. I think they fragmented when they hit the shoulder though....I'll just use my reloads which are about $11 as well and much better quality.

Well I made it to the range yesterday and my 91/30 with the Boyds stock and Nc Star scope mounted inplace of the rear sight loves 49.0gr of IMR 4350 with a 180gr Sierra Prohunter .311dia Winchester brass and WLR primers it shot about 3 1/2" high of were i had it Zeroed but it grouped 3 rounds tight enough a quater would cover it @ 100yards

  14. I loaded up some Prvi brass with 42gr of H4895 with a .311 150gr Sierra Pro-Hunter and with my scout scoped 91/30 with Timney trigger I got a 3/4" group at 70 yards...I was happy. :)

Aw heck guy. This was from a Finn capture 91/30 at 50 yards using Czech silvertip milsurp, yeah that lovely green lacquered stuff. If my handloads can't beat that, I wouldn't reload.

Supposed to go shooting Monday, I'm going to see what my reloads can do with it.

P.S. I also took the brass punch to the front site and it should be centered this time.

  17. I'm shooting Varget with 150gr PRVI bullets and Rem primers and getting 3\4 of an inch or a little less at 100 yards out of my M38.

    I'm using 18 grains VihtaVuori N110 behind a 200 grains .313 cast bullet in my M91/30.
I get great results using 27.5 grains of VihtaVuori N110 behind a 174 grains .311 Sierra HPBT in my M91/30 PU sniper.

    Met vriendelijke groet,

    Martin

    You guys are lucky

you can get 310-311 bullets. Not available locally where I live. Most AK shooters just use mil. surplus stuff and don't reload so the shop doesn't cary 311 bullets.
