8.2 GRAINS BLUE DOT POWDER .357 MAG 125 GRAIN CAST LEAD HOLLOW POINT POWDER COATED BULLET WAS A REAL NICE DEFENSE LOAD OUT OF A 5" Mdl 27 S&W VERY ACCURATE AND IT OPENED UP TO QUARTER SIZED MUSHROOMS IN WET NEWSPAPER.

It might be a good idea to check the primer feed tube on your press. If you have the large feed tube installed, and are using small primers, they can flip easily on you. Ask me how I know.....

The primer was not seated properly. The primer skirt was damaged and did not seal the primer pocket. This also damaged the primer anvil and crushed the fulminate pellet. It then jetted the primer flame into the guns standing breech.
Check your guns breech face for possible erosion around the firing pin port. Also check the primer cup on your press for misalignment.
