Very sadly Glenn DeRuiter 54 of Sarco Inc. passed away Saturday from a rifle exploding while at a rifle range. I dealt with him on a few occasions and he was always descent and helpfull. Here is a link with information of what had happened. http://www.jouster.com/cgi-bin/guntalk/config.pl?read=12109

What crummy news... I'm assuming that the rifle was a non USGI; the link said something about a Navy rifle. I know they used real Garands but the one listed there didn't sound like one of the "big four."
    Just curious.

  3. It was a Lee Navy 6mm - wasn't used for very long, but a lot of history - used by the Navy and USMC in the Spanish-American War, Boxer Rebellion and Philippines. Replaced by the Krag in the early 1900s.
