That, Joe, is a dream I'll never see!
Believe it or not, that boat belongs to a 70+ year-old man. He made his claim to fame by inventing a trimmable surface drive system for hi-po boats.
That boat is a 40-foot Skater powered by twin GE T-58 turbines, cranking out 1350hp apiece. It cruises at 130mph, with a top speed of 160mph in 4-foot chop in San Francisco Bay. Total cost is in the $1 million area. The fire out of the transom is from the afterburners. I've seen this boat in person, and those flames are about 8 feet high!! Talk about an attention-getter at the dock!!
Oh, well, (sigh)....I'll just have to stick with my 20-foot Seebold tunnel for now.....
