Suppliers are telling vendors they can't guarantee prices,
The Govt. is buying up all of it. Gunny says stock up.
We re-loaders will be affected less, but get it now.

it started a couple of months ago, it's just starting to affect the supply line now.
picked up 12 lbs of 2400 for 15.00 a lb,i would have got more but that's all they had.
i still need some sr primers.
guess i better get on those.

Component prices will rise too - happened in the run-up to 2008's Immaculate Deception. That's why I kept stocking up the last few years, and have enough to likely last me the remainder of my shooting life. Fooled me once, won't fool me again!!

    The sky is falling!

Prices will always rise and that is why we reload. Every time some yahoo decides he isn't making enough money to feed his porche he tells all customers that the price of XYZ is going to skyrocket.

I'm already stocked up. I got caught on the lean side with Operation Desert Shield, so I was in good shape last time in 08.

I'm figuring as we get closer to election time, things will heat up and start again with another buying frenzy.

certain components are already seeing backorders appear more frequently.

And we feed the frenzy by telling everyone we know that it's coming around again.

BUT, it always feels good to buy shooting stuff, no matter what the rumor mill is saying.

Good time to know how your firearms work with several different powders, primers, etc.

I have a load with both lr and lp primers in them too.
and one with unique if necessary.
    and a 4895 load for my 44 and 45.
    and one for red dot

There is no such thing as having too much ammo.

Hey Tracer, I've been meaning to ask you -- what does that mean, anyway? And if a guy was trying to pronounce it, what would it sound like?

Just picked up 2lbs of Varget and 2lbs of BLC[2].
Varget for the .308 and B-2 for the .223
The B-2 [25 gr] had touching holes in the bullseye at 100 yds.
I looked for the CFE 223 by Hodgdon but no find.
Got 400 more 69 gr and 400 63 SP SIE.
    M-855 is 210.00 for 420 rounds= .50 ea. wow.

I got 3 lbs of CFE 223 a week or two ago but haven't tried it yet. I do keep hearing good things about though and look forward to trying it in 8x57. Hodgdon has data for it in 125 gr. -180 gr.

My wife asks that question about every three months. My answer is always, "It depends on our circumstances when you ask the question." Right now, I have enough. If things go south, I don't.

No offense OP, but these threads are part of the reason why everything is getting bought up. If everyone wouldn't panic then we'd be fine.

you'd think all those that bought everything just a couple of years ago wouldn't need any more.
so there will be more than enough available in 6-12 months.. right?

Kind of a kosher Ho-Hum, then? That must be what some of my Jewish friends are saying when they make this sound sort of like a cat. The circumstances usually explain the meaning then. Thanks.
