Bacon wrapped meatloaf

    I kept the actual meaf loaf very simply; lb of ground deer meat, a few table spoons of bbq sauce, oinion and garlic powder, 1 hamburger bun worth of bread crumbs some chedder cheese and an egg. The bacon weave is the obvious star here. Some sauteed onions or mushrooms or both would have been good but had a bunch people over and didnt wanna risk them not enjoying this because of somethin like that. I should have a video up as soon as the clips finish joining.

    This is the only kind of meatloaf Marie makes. (3-5 lbs)
    I posted her recipe in this thread, a few years back.

    I'm making meatloaf tomorrow, got two pounds of 93% lean ground beef and plan on adding some bacon bits to the mix. Also planning to add about a half pound of hot sausage. Will add some unseasoned croutons and egg as a binder. I got a store bought packet of meatloaf seasoning, some chopped onions, bell pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and some marinara sauce as a topping. Side dish will be scalloped potatoes and some veggies.
    Dessert - got the Duncan Hines Decadent Classic Carrot Cake mix with real carrots and raisins. AND the whipped cream cheese frosting.

    Had to skip the bacon bits due to an oversight....oldtimers - I just forgot. It should be ready to come out of the oven in 20 more minutes. I'll let you know how it tastes later this evening.

    Meatloaf took 70 minutes to cook because I added a half pound of hot sausage. The taste was outstanding. I got to eat by myself because my spousal unit and daughter elected to eat out. That's OK, they will get to eat leftovers tomorrow. Daughter took a bite, and said it was delicious.

  14. Other than the glaze, it sounds yummy, Swede! I'm not one for glazed meatloaf.

  16. I just don't like meatloaf with sauce or catsup cooked on top of it. Now if you want to serve it on the side, that's fine, but my preference is for A-1. :)
