Well it won't be long and the bear season will be starting up here in New Hampshire and I was just wondering what some of you use for tactics for bagging the big black fury walking rugs?

Stand and bait if it's legal. Heavy 270 to 30 caliber. 35 Remington calls me !! Good luck !! When you go to bed at night, leave a 1/2lb of bacon in your buddies fart-sack !!

    Thanks for the input Steve.
I plan on using my trusty Yugo M24/47 8mm with a 198 grain load.
Luckily,I can bait all I want because I will be on my own land.
That's not a bad idea about the bacon, however,I don't want to pi$$-off my buddy too bad cause I'm going to need some help dragging that bear threw the woods.:09:

good luck! as for bait, you can't beat doughnuts. bears love them and can smell them for miles. also they won't stink you out when the wind blows to your stand, you might get hungry smelling them yourself though.
